To stay or not to stay? That is the question. I love art and I love what I do in college in general. I just feel so burned out lately. Why do I have to take these classes that have nothing to do with art. It seems utterly pointless. Are there colleges that don't make you take English, Math etc.?

All I have to say is that college got in the way of my education. So I took off and decided that life itself is my teacher. The world is my classroom. And my heart and my soul are the driving force to see me through to the end of this 'class' before graduating and going home.

I stopped going last spring semester. I realized that I could have either kept paying thousands of dollars a year, putting myself in debt just to read about what it's like to be a film maker, or what it's like to be on set.. or I could invest all that money in buying camera gear and sound gear, taking time to practice my craft and make films until I get good enough at it to make something of myself. There are artists who spend years to become "classically" or "formalistically" trained in their craft, and there are those who dive wholeheartedly into it every day, without instruction. Neither one is a wrong choice.

I think there are a few canine colleges out there that don't require math or english.

I went to a college with no math, but there was still English lit requirement. My brother has gone and dropped out several times over the years, on round four now. He says he wishes he would have just stuck it out the first time through.
