Attention Monday: I own you. Not only did I wake up on time today, I was able to get coffee on the way to work and when I arrived early at work, I was able to attain my preferred parking spot. SCORE. I really enjoy the dots between words... can you tell? The first week of school is almost over - - it was fabulous to see my students again and meet the new ones. I am however, SO READY FOR THE WEEKEND! I'm going to two happy hours tomorrow and can't wait. I get to wear jeans to work... man, it's the little things.

Sushi was awesome! Chef Lin was fabulous and made a great little appetizer that was some sort of tartare with salmon, white tuna, and tuna with supporting roles from cucumber, spicy mayo, avocado, jalepeno... served with delicious taro chips. Then he broke the night into little segments, first teaching us about hand rolls. Everyone got to make at least one; they could make more if they wanted....

I played with glazes all day long and made a clay box? We also applied glazes to two tiles to experiment with several different processes and techniques. Now it's time for the sushi party! My friend is having Chef Lin over to her house to teach some people how to make sushi. I think he's also going to make some other tasty things for us to just enjoy... but it should be a great learning...

I forgot to tell you how I was wrongfully fired from my part time job. (My full time job is secure in the world of teaching). It's quite a long story... Just know that August 1st was not my day. I found out I was fired over a month ago (before I had left for London and China) and nobody told me. I only found out on August 1st because I called and asked. Does that seem mildly shady to anyone...
