see your favorite band members, yay or nay?
There you are waiting by Red7 for some band to play before that one band you came to see and paid a 5 dollar cover( which is such a steal cause you know this band is great.) As you look around you just see a bunch of Austinians smoking and talking about how they saw this band for free 3 years ago at a house show or "southby" . You turn around and standing alone you see a member from another band you like. You have a fan girl moment.
Do you approach him?
So going up to band members from band a yes or an uncool.
I can tell you my most recent fan girl moment was during ACL i went out to go see Ty Segall and one of the members from harlem was there. now being that I dont live in Austin and i dont "see him everywhere" i went up to him and said "hey youre harlem!' (not "youre in harlem" no YOU ARE harlem"
I always wonder if other people do this, or if its uncool or whatever.
so please, give experiences, stories and a uncool or cool vote
Also if you happen to practice the art of Alt Celebrity spotting, how do you do it?
Do you go up to them and say "like your band?" or "You guys were great on fallon! (if you get this reference props) or do you bum a cigarette etc.

A few years ago, when Night Marchers played FFF, I was front and center with my friend, full of energy and rocking out. Fast forward to later that night, I'm at red 7 for negative approach, outside smoking a cigarette drinking a beer. Look to my left, and there's John Reis. I go up and say holy shit, what's up dude!! Had a great conversation with him, dude is quite a gentleman. He even remembered me being up there and thanked me for being so full of energy.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, so long as you don't act like a complete douche. They love the appreciation, as well as getting to really connect with a fan. Just approach them like they're another fellow member of the human race.
