I've been really curious about this. Some of the reviews I've read have mentioned a country influence on some songs, which I find intriguing. Last time I saw them live was when they did that Garbage/Distillers tour: that was a pretty great show!
The single is definitely the weakest song on the album. There's only two rock songs on it, it's mostly a pop album, but most maturing bands end up tweaking their sound the same way so I can't be mad at them. They lyrics are still good, in the vein of the "Rock Steady" album.
