SXSW Day Two Recap
Thursday SXSW I went to the Roky Erickson Ice Cream Social at Threadgill's. While there I got to enjoy sets by Ray Wylie Hubbard, Gurf Morlix, and Joe Ely while I ate insides the restaurant. Then outside for Miss Li, Asteroids Galaxy Tour, Riverboat Gamblers, and Roky Erickson with Okkervil River. Miss Li is easily my favorite act to have seen this year at SXSW. She's insanely hot, and very very talented. I hope she is able to break to a wider audience in the next few years.
After this I journeyed to the Austin Music Hall to prepare myself for Stone Temple Pilots! The opening bands The Colors Turning and Tab The Band were outstanding. There aren't words to describe how great STP was on Thursday. Scott Weiland is apparently stone cold sober, and his performance made me remember 1994 all over again. After STP, I ended my night with showcase by The Crystal Method and Man Or Astroman?
