My school district didn't take Labor Day off today so I had to go to school. My mom didn't have to go to work today though and when I got home my mom showed me our new painted kitchen. My sister has recently gone off to college so now I have become my mom's sole focus and it feels like she is always trying to seek some kind of approval from me. Maybe it is just a parenting thing, or maybe it's just a her thing, I can't really tell. She's always been closer to my sister, I don't bear any resentment towards that though, it's just the truth. I told her about how I'm now officially enrolled in a college class that my high school offers, she said it's funny how now both of her daughters are in college. Our kitchen looks nice.
