I suspect I read (well, glanced at) this but it was likely about other festivals or I may have just imagined it, but by chance has there been any word if The Damned and/or Public Enemy were planning on playing an album all the way through at FFFF? Thanks.

Ok, I'm actually being (or maybe pretending to be) stoic offline cuz I'm a superchamp of a friend/human (and totally humble too, JK). But my months-long anticipation for bopping to a Ramones coverin' Shonen Knife tonight have been stymied. It really smarts. At least got FFF and Sarah Silverman & Co. next week.

Reason #27 Why FFFF rawks: Not postponing the festival like All Tomorrow's Parties. I'm purely reading tea leaves here but I will be shocked if rescheduling ATP until March will resemble anything close to the original line-up or, more likely, happen at all. This is a real shame (speculating, but prove me wrong) but the real reason is likely cash flow and I suspect it will get UGLY. As ATP...

As far as substances ala "Sex, Drugs & Rock-n-Roll," I've mellowed to mostly like a pre-show Zyrtec or a post-post-show Ambien but part of me is charmed that a new generation has their own PCP-esque dope. When I was a tyke, we had "Crazy Foam" soap but it wasn't exactly a party. Just curious in the name of science if anyone (or rather a "friend") knows the skinny on the salts? All ears...

If you haven't seen the badass "CARLOS," it's such crafty epic cinema. It's about 5.5 hours but you can stream it on Netflix in three parts (Netflix still exists, right?). Also, "Submarine" is a dark comedy indie gem. Trailer for CARLOS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3QkM7uyF10

(Not necessarily saying that ala Barfly/Bukowski/aka Chinaski but) I just gotta say yooz guys are looking really well. Perusing your mugs, y'all haven't aged a single day after all this time. Kudos! Is it genetics? Fish Oil? A deal with Beezlebub? Wait, it's those rock-n-roll hearts. Hells yeah.

Drive Like Jehu & Rocket From The Crypt put on some of the most white-hot rawking shows I've seen. And I dug catching John Reis' more rock-rockish The Night Marchers (at FFFF in, uh, 2009), which I understand is/was essentially the Hot Snakes line-up sans Rick Froberg. But somehow, and this is a bit embarrassing, I've managed to not own any Hot Snakes records or catch them live. So, I'm stoked...

Yeah, The Simpsons is perhaps hit or miss (there's always some jewel of dialogue & some laughs) and it's still one of the few TV shows I watch and it's still better than most network programming. I'm always vocal about dinosaur bands who need to quit but Springfield hasn't worn out its welcome for me. The satire, and all those great characters... I"m just not clear on how the show is no longer...

If you've never taken the short trip to Gruene Hall (the oldest dance hall in Texas, or at least "continually run"), badass Lucinda Williams is playing there on Friday, Nov 7 (alas, same day comedian Michael Ian Black is at Mohawk). And alt-country luminaries the Jayhawks are at Gruene on Nov. 17th. And happy scavenging y'all.
