RIP Tony Sly
I caught devastating word that Tony Sly, frontman for beloved band No Use For A Name and solo artist had died on July 31st 2012. I’m deeply saddened by this as NUFAN was one of the very first punk rock bands that I had gotten into as a kid, and also one of the first bands I had ever seen perform live when I started attending shows as a teenager. I had to opportunity to meet Tony and he was a genuine and down to earth guy, full of humility, kindness and appreciative of a young kids enthusiasm. I saw NUFAN many times throughout my late teens and 20’s and their shows coupled with their live performances were always on point. Whatever reasons took him from this world at the young age of 41, it is nonetheless a tragic loss for his family, friends and the world of punk music. Rest in peace Tony, you will be sorely missed.

These were my experiences and thoughts about Tony, as well. This has weighed heavily on my mind since I first heard the news.
