Interesting how this dude's tweet turned on him. What say you, FFF'ers? Was MC Chris justified or dick move having the guy removed from the show?

reading that post and some of the comments leaves me surprised. i haven't invested much time in actually listening to his music but that's pretty crazy to me based on the fact that everyone is entitled to their opinon about music. its the internet for shit's sake!

I've never been a huge fan of his music, even though I've played more than my fair share of video games. I was, however, a huge fan of his work on Sealab 2020...I loved that show!

It's actually a good move namely because now I know who MC Chris is. So if that was the ploy then it works and gets his name out.

Good points, folks! I carry the sentiment that it was a dickish thing to do. Seriously, would you rather have the dude tweet his opinion or be one of those guys who boos the band and/or throws stuff? Not everyone is going to like you or what you do (or, in this case, your opening band/act), that's just the way it is, man. To be fair, it seems MC Chris does regret (and apologizes for) how he acted (or at least he's paying lip service to it):

Top post on reddit right now is a Facebook update from him, which I don't see on his page at the moment:

Haha what a dick move but kind of funny. I'd be so embarrassed for being called out and kicked out. I'd also be embarrassed for having someone removed from a show because of their opinion on Twitter.

It's sad that I have no idea who MC Chris is. I'll have to look him up. I'm outta the loop.

"McChris notified me of your post. I'm going to have to escort you out of Reddit" - great comment

Wow! A friend of mine is a HUGE fan of his MC Chris. I can't wait to see what he has to say about it. I honestly think that was kind of a dick move kicking the dude out.

That is totally lame. I dig MC Chris, but that was a total dick move on his part. What, are people no longer allowed to have an opion?

Wow...that was one very interesting read! While I do agree with some of the people on reddit that the anonymity of the interwebs can make it easier for people to be dicks, I put the blam for this incident squarely on MC Chris' shoulders. As an example, I'm a huge Slayer fan...probably seen 'em at least forty times over the years. At every Slayer show I've ever been to, the audience gave the openers (whoever they happened to be that year) absolute hell, pretty much yelling "Slayer!" from the time the doors opened until the houselights came on. I have never once, however, seen Slayer kick anyone out of a show for ragging on the openers. I'm sure they get that being an opening act is a dangerous business: in most cases, none of those butts in seats are there for you.

Another story: I saw Mike Watt open for Primus on the "Southbound Pachyderm Tour," back in '95. The crowd essentially booed and hollered for Primus through much of Watt's set. At one point, frustrated, he stopped playing and started berating everyone, complaining that Primus had personally invited him and everyone was a total douchbag for dissing him. While I could agree with the principle of what he said, he was still the opener that night, not a co-headliner. Mike Watt or not, he wasn't the star of the show that night.

Mostly, though, it just doesn't seem smart to kick out a paying fan, especially if they weren't talking shit to you. Sounds like MC Chris might have a little growing up to do.
