Rant of the Day
Today I am out of class early, which is great because now I have(had) time to study. Problem is I am having trouble finding a place to study, a quiet corner, or even a reasonable bench to post up on. Granted I am now spending my time ranting about these children on this rather addictive website, point is I couldn't hear myself think and I'm not about to waste my time staring at a book while the kids next to me argue about weather their magic card move was legal or not. Really people? What is this world coming to, what are these children (Wasting valuable tax dollars) doing here? When there older what will they tell their malnourished children when they ask why Matthew's kids aren't going to school hungry? "Well son, I went to school and I played DDR and Magic." Forgive me if I offend you, but this is why a public option in health care should not pass. I work TOO damn hard for the little I have, and I will be working TOO damn hard to support my future family for me to just give away even MORE tax dollars to an ALREADY increasing budget deficit this year, and ALREADY HUGE National debt. It's about principle here ladies and gentlemen, not so much that I would be forking over more money, but the fact that I (who followed the rules and did my part) will be supporting these idiots that play video games at school, and watch red vs. blue. I realize the irony of me writing this rant while I'm at school, I'm really not getting anything done anymore, but what you don't know is that I'm already ahead as it is. And for those who want to jump on me for the health care tidbit, let me say this.. I do believe this nation needs a health-care reform. We need one desperately, but we can do much better than what has been proposed. We can be more efficient in our obligations, in our organizing, and in our spending. If not, your local non-commercial free wifi-ing coffee shop watering hole will go under trying to pay for their own employees healthcare.
rant done, over and out.

Oh I didn't take offense either, if I was afraid of what other people knew, I simply wouldn't bring it up ha.
Today was just frustrating in general. I'm glad I get to spend the rest of this day at the gym venting it all out :D

I'm not offended and I hope you don't think I was attacking you. I asked about the kids because I thought they could be in college but wasn't sure. It is sad for people to waste an opportunity for education when they have it but most likely they, or their parents, are paying their tuition unless they receive scholarships or grants. If that's the case, it shouldn't come from your tax dollars but is annoying, nonetheless.
I'm really interested in international politics rather than US policies but the two go hand in hand so can't really ignore it. Plus international politics is what I study so yeah. :)

well said! I claim no expertise in the area of healthcare or much of politics as it is, but I'm always eager to educate myself on it. As for my children comment, I apologize for the misunderstanding. I was making the connection between truant college students and children. Something that was honestly based off of my frustrations. I don't know whether or not they are truant or just chillen before class. Maybe I am just a hardass and believe school should be about school, and now about ddr and card games. Thanks for the reply :)

Are these college kids or truant children?
I don't want to start a debate but I want to point out something: currently the Obama administration wants to delineate a plan that will help small local businesses provide insurance to their workers - that's where the public option comes in. The administration understands that smaller businesses would not be able to handle that financial strain of insuring employees; However, there are plenty of commercial and corporate entities that routinely do not provide insurance, or if they do, do not do so at a price that is affordable to their own employees. It's not just for people who may take the system for granted the way Ol' Dirty Bastard would get welfare checks. And yes, there does need to be a more effecient system in place but it's not as though this public option really threatens anyone. It's one of the many things that need to be fixed in this country. Plus, does anyone remember how we got so much in debt in the first place, before the bailout? Could it be the two-fronted war and the ever-increasing defense budget? We currently have $8 billion to missle defense and that's a decrease from previous years when the Bush Administration was trying to trujmp up Regan's damned Star Wars idea. I'm getting off track but think about it this way: this is one of the most developed countries in the world and yet a huge chunk of the population lacks access to adequate medical care because it's too expensive.
