So I'm usually good at preparing for F3Fest but this year hasn't panned out the same way. I have something of a tradition of bringing fresh blood to the fest every year with this year being no exception. Well, the friend I was bringing cancelled on me and the room we had reserved was in their name (which they cancelled not really thinking about it). Now I may be a little bummed but it's certainly not the end of the world. So now I'm asking my other friends if they'd like to go and starting the room search again. One of my more well-traveled coworkers suggested AirBnB for a place to crash and I'm also checking for hostels but I do have fresh blood in ATX so I may just end up couch surfing as I've done most other years.

Moral of the story: for every problem, there is a solution.
