Make Sounds
I'm throwing this out there.
Shamelessly copying and pasting a craigslist ad I posted here in Ft. Worth. If any of you might be interested in this kind of thing, let me know. I never have luck meeting musicians around here, but I know you Austinites are cooooool.
I'm a guitarist/jack of all trades in my late 20s looking for vocalists or musicians interested in doing a lo-fi indie garage soul kind of thing. Lo-fi, dirty maybe even shoegazey sonics, warth and reverb with strong rhythm and interesting vocals. Maybe a duo, no more than 4 piece. Best Coast meets Stax records? Looking to keep it simple and let all the sounds breathe and live together. Not trying to conform to popular/radio trends, but not afraid of a catchy beat or melody either. I'd love to find a vocalist similar to Cults, Little Dragon, Lykke Li, Blonde Redhead, Feist, Beach House, Young Prisms, Phantogram...you get the idea. Not wanting american idol types, just cool, interesting and expressive. I'm willing to find common ground, I dig collaboration.
I live just north of Ft. Worth. I have good gear (vintage) and stage and studio experience. I love noise and movement and DIY ethics/style. I want to write and record. I want to play shows. Let's make some sounds, friends.

Damn... I wish I knew how to sing.
Your demos are really good. I love the sound of "Basement", "What You Know (You Don't Really Know), and "Regal".
