An About Me.
I like what Fun Fun Fun has up on this site. Very cool and social network-y.
Anyway. I'm Lauren. I hail from Houston, Texas but I currently live in Denton, Texas, where I attend the University of North Texas as a Theatre major with a focus in performance. I write plays, do stand-up, perform on the Powerful Half-Hourful (North Texas Television's Sketch Comedy show), and watch a lot of movies and television.
I also listen to a ton of music (obviously, otherwise why would I go to Fun Fun Fun?) and love Denton's music scene. Some of my favorite local artists are The Atomic Tanlines, Brave Combo, Teenage Cool Kids, Final Club, and Man Factory. I'm pretty open minded with it comes to what genres I like and my favorite artists range from St. Vincent to Against Me! to Prince to The Cramps to Joanna Newsom.
So, there's that. I like to talk about things. I always enjoy a good conversation with some good people. You dig?

Woo, UNT! Denton is (or was) also home to Little Jack Melody and His Young Turks, IIRC.
Welcome to the site! Hope to see you next month!

Thanks, Phillip and syld. Psyched to be here.
And I'll for sure check out Slobberbone. The name sounds promising.

I just realized that one of my favorite bands is from Denton: Slobberbone. Loved these guys and was absolutely gutted when they called it quits. I've been hearing rumors that they've gotten back together recently, however.

Welcome to the site! Always good to have some new cyber-faces here. Like everything related to F3F, it's pretty much impossible to have a bad time around here.

Spooky Folk is pretty good, but I haven't taken the time to really sit down and get 'em a shot.
and yes! Denton is a fun place. Very cozy and friendly. Everyone is gracious and anxious to spread the wealth.

I should delve more into all things cultural from Denton as I would be hard-pressed to name any band other than Bowling for Soup. I have a friend who claims she had the best time living in Denton while she attended UNT and I consider her a classy lady.
