The Big Apple and Wax Tailor
I recently returned from a quick trip I took to New York City to see Wax Tailor. I'm not sure what is causing my head to spin more, the show or the city itself.
If you've never been to NYC before, let me tell you, it is almost another planet. I truly suspect that those who reside there are largely unaware that other cities exist. I could go into a deep prose to that end, but I will save it--you'll probably eventually make it up there and I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise.
I would most definitely urge anyone remotely interested in hip hop/electronic/trip hop/awesomeness, to keep an eye out for the next Wax Tailor show. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. Wax on the turntables, accompanied by a bassist/violinist, a cellist, a flutist, an electric guitarist, and no less than three guest singers/rappers. It was a magical potion of a symphony woven together into the perfect tapestry of ambiance and rhythm (I'm a big fan, if you couldn't already tell).
I know he only hits some of the big ones--Seattle, San Francisco, New York City, Vancouver. However, if there is the slightest chance that you can make it to a Wax Tailor show someday, do it! I am convinced that it would be impossible to not enjoy his show and walk away having purchased every piece of merch swag available.
