Idle speculations/suggestions
So, it seems that Superchunk will play a free show in New York this summer (courtesy of Vans sponsorship, I know). Surely they would be amenable to playing for money in Austin in early November!
Also, the documentary about A Tribe Called Quest is out right now, or soon. What better time to call them up and see if they would be interested in THE headlining slot on Friday?

I'm not aware of Superchunk playing in Austin, just saying that they would be a good headliner for the Orange stage. Plus the fact that they're playing a Vans-sponsored show in New York that (I think) Transmission is involved in makes me hopeful.

Pretty much every band at those Vans shows would be great at FFF! Fucked Up has even played before but I'd welcome them back with open arms.

Yeah, I saw them at Lollapalooza '94 (or was it '95) and they were great! Had a VIP media wristband so I was able to be right up at the stage. If they were to play FFF, I would be right there again, with my self-purchased PIP wristband.

Tribe would be awesome. Saw them once many moons ago and were great. I know Q-Tip is still doing his solo thing.

Ya know i was thinking/hoping the same thing! I see everything that F3F posts or sponsors or whatever as a potential clue. So I'm sure at least a few of those bands playing the Vans free shows will play FFF Fest.
