Just moved to Austin... let's chill!
After driving from 2PM-11AM and losing an hour to the Twilight Zone, I've finally arrived in Austin! It feels glorious. Hot, but absolutely glorious! My first week was spent showing my driving compadre, best dude friend, and partner in crime the reasons I feel in love with this lively city. Now that he's gone and my boxes are unpacked, I'm feeling... nervous. This city is intimidating! Good god, you guys are gorgeous/intelligent/witty/downright sexy and I'm beginning to wonder where my small-town (at least compared to Austin) self fits. I'm trying to stay positive, though! I've fallen in love with Shangri-La, went to Wild Frontier Fest, saw the Butthole Surfers, and browned my Dutch skin at the 'secret beach'. My question for all the FFFFers out there is, does anyone want to chill, have any suggestions of sweet places to go or how to make friends (as I've somehow forgotten how to do this)? Shall I start the friend-making off with asking a/s/l or are the days of AOL chat long gone? :)

Just stay away from the East side (12th and Chicon, Springdale and Airport, Especially Rundberg). If you can avoid those places, you will have a good time.

Austin might seem a little intimidating at first, but it's a pretty friendly place; at least from my experience.
