my personal experience with FFF2012
Hi, I paid $140 for my 3 day pass before the lineup was released, only to find that it was the worst lineup (in my opinion) that I have ever seen at FFF in all the five years I've been attending.
I missed Day 1 so that I could see the only band I cared about, KING TUFF, play a measly (yet overwhelmingly gorgeous) six songs at my house, while the cops gave my mother a ticket for noise complaints. I made them chili, I put them to bed on bare mattresses on my living room floor, I lent them my towels. We woke up in the morning and all headed out to Austin, separately of course. "See you tonight, boys!"
Around Houston I realized I left my ticket at home. TOO LATE.
Apparently, you can't get into Nites without a wristband. Since fucking when? I KNOW I went to a Beerland aftershow last year with my two friends who didn't have wristbands, so I thought it would work out fine again this year. WRONG.
They all saw me get kicked out of Red7 after trying to sneak in. Not only every member of King Tuff, but also most of Natural Child said hello to me and my friends waiting by the door just in case somebody would let us in. No dice.
Broken, walking away toward plan B, some stupid shit dance club, I shed tears on sixth street. Twenty-two years old and stone sober.
How. Embarassing.

that really sucks. at least king tuff played at your house. I tried soooo hard to stay up until 2am to see them play after being at the fest all day drinking and just couldn't make it. i was really sad I miss them because I love love love king tuff. so you have that, which I know isn't complete consolation, but that is a really rad memory.
