Glasses
so every time i'm in the pit, i have my wife hold my glasses. Which is cool, but sucks because i am really blind and can't see anything but a bunch of moving blobs of color. I went to see Converge this summer solo, and had no one to hold my glasses but thought that they would miraculously stay on. I was wrong. Glasses fell off as soon as the pit got moving. In the end it nearly destroyed my glasses, but i didn't mind so much because it was fun. Oh and thank goodness that these aluminum frames stayed together. I was certain they would be smashed into a million pieces. a couple of cool dudes tried to help me find em after the show. It was hilarious finding a ton of hipster glasses all shattered and were obviously non-prescription because i tried to look thru em to help my vision lol. Eventually found mine sorta neatly folded (with the arms all bent out of whack but still in one piece) at the front of the stage. The frame and lenses are scratched to hell, but i am now determined to keep these frames as long as possible and just replace the lenses. Oh also this year i am considering getting some Croakies to keep my glasses on my face at all times. I'll have to get an extra pair, because i'm certain if my glasses don't fall and break, they will break on my face. /endrandomgibberish

you need some sweet prescription sports goggles like those nerdy basketball players wear. you wouldn't break your glasses and you would probably freak a bunch of people out.

haha yea i totally wanted some sports goggles when i was a kid and played b-ball since my glasses broke so often. I'm going to have at least 3 pairs of glasses handy for the fest this year, one on my face, someone carrying another then another in my hotel room. I might be overpreparing but feel i may not be prepared enough!

I had to get replacement glasses after FFFF last year. I made it through the first 8 songs of the Descendents set before they got ripped off my face and lost forever in the sea of people.

haha, yeah, i can imagine that's a bitch. i've seen my drummer lose his glasses in more than one pit, and generally we're only able to find most of the shattered remains.
but yeah, at the fest i certainly wouldn't expect them to maintain. especially if you jump in that slayer pit...
