the kid.
so tomorrow is my awesome daughter's 19th birthday. every year, my husband & i take the day off so we have our schedules open for whatever she wants to do. when i asked her what she wanted to do that day i got "oh, im working both jobs that day since im taking the whole weekend off." umm, hellooo.... we got penciled in for the few hours that she DOES have off so we can all have dinner. my kid is growing up & doesnt need us anymore. 
i know shes older. i know shes independent. i know i should get over it. im proud of the person shes turned out to be. we tease her that shes the adult in the family. she is, though. most days. im not crazy about the boy shes seeing. i really liked the last one.
i need a beer.

Sounds like you are really great parents! I don't have kids myself but I could see where you are coming from. Be proud of yourself for raising a good kid who can be independent in the times we are living in!
