Unfortunately, I arrived too late to actually see any of Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears' set aside from a rousing rendition of Surfin' Bird at the end, but I had an incredible time at the festival on Friday. I saw Black Joe, Big Freedia, Four Tet, Thee Oh Sees, Murder City Devils, Spank Rock, Okkervil River, Passion Pit, and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and I was lucky enough to meet Black Joe Lewis & Okkervil River at the Waterloo signing tent. Ryan Gosling and Rooney Mara are also running around the shore, so keep an eye out for that. Really an incredible day. I didn't get to hit up the yellow stage, but I'll be there for most of the day today to catch Donald Glover and Turquoise Jeep. I cannot wait. I heard about Danzig's shit going down at the Black stage, which really sucks. I feel as though the city ordinance for noise levels should be something that can be temporarily excused for festivals.

What were your highlights and lowlights of the first day?

Highlight: Passion Pit. Incredible lights and atmosphere, unfortunately I didn't love their performance.
Lowlight: As I'm sure Big Freedia would say, "Dust errywherr, dust errywherr."
