To state the obvious, I now have the internet. All it took was my hooking up the modem and then being put on hold for 45 minutes while they updated my paperwork. The technician even apologized for the hold music which was a weird house mix. I didn't realize Time Warner had its own dj but they do and he or she doesn't play anything that suits my taste. I spent most of yesterday buying things on a whim and hanging out with friends. I spent most of today buying things on a whim and hanging out with friends AND lifting furniture, repeatedly. Two from a dumpster and one at the evil IKEA because apparently, asking a yellow shirted employee about buying a sofa means you need to put it on the damn cart yourself. It's not that I can't do it - my body is certainly capable of many feats of strength though I look, as someone once eloquently stated, like I'm about to snap in half at any given moment; no, my qualms lie in that when I ask you, Ikea employee for help, you don't give it to me and, due to strange circumstances, I end up lifting this sofa numerous times. Putting it on the cart, putting it back up, back on the cart, back up, putting in on the cart the other way. Whatever, it's a nice sofa and my friend actually videotaped me. She didn't help because she had to "hold the cart steady" but she did buy me frozen yogurt to make up for it.
