unnecessary remakes
ok, so the "Millenium Trilogy", which begins with, "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo", by Stieg Larsson have been made into 3 fantastic films which were made in Sweden, untouched by Hollywood's greedy grasp...until now, unfortunately. Perfect casting, solid directing, and some deeply disturbing violence are characteristics of the the Swedish versions, along with English subtitles, since the entire film is in Swedish. Noomi Rapace is fucking brilliant as Lisbeth Salander- she OWNS the role in every way, and in my mind, it seems ridiculous to make some lame-ass, watered-down American versions that will be sure to omit most of the truly edgy material that made the Swedish versions so damn good. god forbid some people should have to read subtitles, or be made to feel seriously but necessarily uncomfortable during a film! and folks wonder why other countries hate us so much. perhaps one reason is because so many Americans are too lazy and/or close-minded to watch and enjoy foreign films, and Hollywood seems to have little respect for them either. if you haven't seen any of the trilogy, i highly recommend you watch the original versions- accept no substitutes!!!
