  1. GHOST!

I know these dudes have played like 6 U.S. shows, but if they could get tossed onto the roster for the black stage, that'd be pretty awesome. You know, Satan Metal and whatnot, but they still have some jams...and I'm pretty sure Danzig would be stoked too.

MCD round 2. I haven't been this excited for a show in Texas since their initial return at the Mohawk and FFF. Work well done.

  3. PIP Tickets

What is a PIP ticket? I work in ticketing and this shit is baffling me. I know SRO, GA, THE, CAB, Vip, etc etc etc etc etc- but I keep seeing everyone asking about PIP tickets. I hate to sound so uninformed or naive, but what is it? What privledges are involved? Answers, anyone?

  4. My only condition: it has to be called Pussy Control.

If you live in or near Houston, I'm sure that you've heard about it. The Museum of Natural Science is now open 24 hours a day until the flower blossoms and dies. We went out last night to see it and get a whiff of its renowned stench...regardless of the countless people saying that they smelled it and how horrible it is etc etc etc it didnt smell like anything. There wasn't a terrible odor, or...

  6. HOLE

I went to the show merely for the trainwreck factor. That, and it's free and on a Tuesday- what else do you have going on that can compare with being 10 feet from Courtney Love and waiting for disaster: I was wrong. Although she completely restaffed the band, it wasnt terrible. I was never really huge into them, even in their heyday of '94, but after the first few minutes of garbled noise, they...

  7. Leonard Cohen

I know he played Dallas in the past year or so, but I was really stuck out and couldn't make it. That voice owns my stereo for days at a time be it car stereo or turntable. I need to see him live. 75 and still being more active and creative than most of us will ever get to be, you have to admire that.

  8. After the Goldrush

Neil. That dude has been in my head and more frequently on my record player since his show here in Houston at Jones Hall. It was solo and more impressive than I imagine he could have been with a full band. Between the four guitars, the two pianos, and the organ he shred through hits and new material for 2 hours. I felt shorted, but not in a "fucked-over" kind of way; just in the sense that he...

  9. Pride

What's happening for pride? I know there are a lot or pre-partying and street drinking going on, but I'm hoping to hear about something other than the usual. JR's always promises a good time, maybe that's where to be

  10. Heroin Thunder

ATX knows White Rhino. Those dudes play town more than anyone else I know. They also bring an epic show everytime. Their full length and new ep are both hoss jams without mercy. Last year they played a show at the Mohawk during FFF and a slew of people left the festival for them...even a few music reviewers for well established publications. It would be a shame to have to leave the festival to...
