After a tough year, I'm definitely thankful for the chance at a new beginning, however symbolic. Hope 2012 treats you all splendidly :-).

Please help my friend find her lost dog. He's a miniature greyhound named Felix, and she's offering a $100 reward. Photos and more information are at the link. http://austin.craigslist.org/pet/2766600722.html Thanks, and happy holidays!

Three classes, one presentation, one exam, and three job interviews until the weekend... if all goes according to plan, I will be at Auditorium Shores watching the Thermals at 4:45 this Friday. It can't get here soon enough...

Just won PIP tickets from the smartcar scavenger hunt! Woohooo! So.fucking.giddy about this. Looking forward to getting jealous glances all next weekend :-) In other words... yes, this makes me better than you. Thanks to the good people at smart for sponsoring this!

My very exciting plans involve staying in and catching up on work, but for those with slightly more interesting plans, have fun and be safe :-)

Got my ticket! Finally. Not sure what the delay is in posting the schedule, but I can't wait to see it. Hopefully FFFFest can avoid the ACL trap of scheduling good bands with similar fanbases at the same time as each other (*fingers crossed*). But enough with the negativism... I have a weekend pass! Yaaaaay!

The good news is, I did pretty well on my GRE. Not as well as I would have liked, but decently enough. The bad is that after the test, I got a phone call with the news that my grandmother had died. Apparently she went peacefully and without pain, but it's still unexpected, and still doesn't seem quite real yet. A thought to start Monday with: enjoy life while you can.

And I've barely studied. Still don't know how to do math. Fuuuuuuuck. On the up side, less than three months until FFF!

Okay... I know I'm not alone in this sentiment... but this years FFF lineup is AMAZING. I was already excited about the Hold Steady, the Dirty Projectors, and Slick Rick... but Os Mutantes? MGMT? Bad Religion? Monotonix? Devo? Effing WEIRD AL? Kudos to you, festival organizers. You are true American heroes.

Has anyone volunteered for Fun Fun Fun Fest before, or knows information about it? Just curious about what volunteering entails, what you get for it, what sort of time commitment is required, etc. I've volunteered for some of the music and film festivals around town and had experiences that ranged from incredible to miserable... I love the behind-the-scenes aspect, but I also want to see at...
