Bruce Lamont (solo) (Nites)
The name Bruce Lamont sounded familiar but it took a little checking around before I remembered who Yakuza were. I can't say that I was a huge fan but I had a lot of respect for what they were doing and Lamont has always been a pretty interesting vocalist. His newest solo album, "Feral Songs For the Epic Decline" is pretty damn great, striking a middle ground between Earth and Neurosis, although leaning more towards the chilled-out sound of either. Lamont knows how to wail, when necessary, and the tunes always have a sense of forward momentum and spooky atmosphere. Maybe I'll need to make Sunday Nite a Venomous Maximus/Bruce Lamont evening rather than a Dirty Ghosts/Foreign Mothers evening. Hmm...

Saw him once with Scott Kelly (of Neurosis) and Eugene Robinson (of Oxbow), great lounge show of solo sets!
