Why Doug Seven Left the Microsoft- His New Icenium vs PhoneGap Apps developer and PhoneGap Android
Indeed Doug Seven has confirmed that he left Microsoft because he wanted to make developer’s tool rather than platform development tools. That required the developer division to secede from the Microsoft in order to become a new ISV or the independent software vendor. Doug was trying to make tool that could be more developer friendly. This was not possible in Microsoft and the breakaway of the developer’s division was not possible. Hence, he left the company. He soon joined Telerik and is now leading the Icenium project, which seems to be competing with the PhoneGap that is now being bought by the Adobe. PhoneGap Apps developerIn the past, we were more fond of building the native apps and then we came up with the hybrid apps. Finally, we are up with the mobile websites. This has been made possible as we can now use the HTML5, CSS3 and the JavaScript. This is just awesome. The native apps have been quite popular in the past. However, soon the hybrid apps were being made with the PhoneGap. The PhoneGap certainly provides the environment for the PhoneGap Apps developer to make the apps that are platform independent and they do sell at different app stores. You can make the Phonegap Android apps as well as the IOS apps for Apple store. However, you are going to find one drawback in case of the Phone Gap environment as well.Phonegap AndroidYou will find that the PhoneGap is truly platform friendly. You can run a PhoneGap app on iOS, PhoneGap Android, Symbian, Blackberry, and Windows 8 and almost in any platform. However, have you noticed one thing that for all this we certainly need some sort of IDE such as eclipse and without that we just cannot do anything with the PhoneGap? The PhoneGap apps developers certainly cannot just work without the IDE. However, Doug does confirm that his Icenium is not dependent on the IDE and you can work without the IDE as well. Actually in case of the Icenium, you will find that the concept of clouds comes into play and all the parts are being available through the cloud. Hence, you will not require any IDE to drag and drop any component. You need to know that everything is present in cloud. This might look a little bit confusing. However, the software is in the beta phase and is open source as well. Phonegap AppsIn the 90s, there was a battle between the browsers and now the battle is between the various operating systems. The IOS and the Android are certainly winning the race. If in case of desktop it is windows then for mobile, it is IOS and android, those are leading. However, the Windows 8 is coming and that can change the whole complexion definitely. The PhoneGap developer’s apps might be popular right now but the Icenium apps just like PhoneGap Apps are soon going to be in the race as well. It might be that Icenium lags behind the PhoneGap. This can be the case just as android is lagging behind the IOS. However, Icenium is certainly going to hit the cloud. phonegap android
