RwC and Brrrrrent are spot-on! My gmail inbox digging reveals the first "full lineup" announcement for FFF '10 was August 4th, with other announcements and changes (like the Devo cancellation due to injury) trickling out up until the concert. And, as mentioned, there should be leaks (starting soon, I bet)! In '09 I seem to recall the leaks being more email-based, but last year they did videos and some twitter leaks, if memory serves me correct...

I only had a one day ticket last year at ACL cause I wanted to catch LCD Soundsystem one last time before it was over. This year there wasn't one day where I felt compelled to purchase. If I would have caught the $50 tickets I might have attended.

they released some artists throughout july and august and then the whole lineup in mid-to-late august if I remember correctly...

If I didn't buy the $50 tickets and bought the original priced tickets for 3 days, I probably would of sold my ACL tickets. When you think about the cost of parking, beer, food, etc etc...it adds up and mid September is brutal for me since I grew up in Chicago my whole life and I'm still not use to the Texas Summers.
Agreed with DFA, Santigold not beeing at FFFF. That would of been my guess if they weren't at ACL. It is what it is and ACL focused too much on headliners this year since they couldn't snag Radiohead, which was their main goal this year. Fine with me that RH isn't there cuz they are one of my favorite bands and I rather see them by themselves instead of a festival setting..
As for when FFFF announced last years lineup? I wanna say it was obviously before October...August maybe. They had lineup videos released before the whole line up came out but I don't know when the first video came out to reveal some of the lineup. My guess will be mid to late July before we start finding out some of the amazing groups performing at this fest. Just a guess and just a hope. ANXIOUS.

i am sad that deaths from above and santigolds are playing acl, was really hoping they would play f3f fest! But yea i agree overall that ACL lineup isn't all that great considering its their 10th yr anniversary or whatevs

The headliners aren't so bad if you are a music fan. If I had my choice of headliners, of course it would be different. My problem is the middle-tier bands. If you look at the lineup last year compared to this year, it makes ACL 2011 look like garbage. Glad I got the $50 tickets to ACL this year.
ACL 2011 highlights will be: Death From Above 1979, Stevie Wonder, Social D, Santigold, Walkmen, Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene and that is pretty much it and that isn't saying much.
FunFunFunFest is about to take a huge dump on ACL's special 10 year anniv.
