PIP (First World) Problems
Hey Transmission Entertainment,
I'd like to start of by saying; Thank you, the Music provided to exceed all expectations and I had a blast. For the next few days I will be coughing and sneezing black garbage, nursing my many bruises from the pit, and whispering stories of amazing sets through strained vocal chords. Unfortunately that same whisper will recount that this year PIP was quite frankly a disaster.
Last Year I scraped together the extra money to go PIP & it was awesome. It was so awesome that even with the price increase this year it seemed like the best deal ever and I sold my friends on the idea too. And we were all happy and content and then the DAY BEFORE the event you drop a bombshell of an email; "Oh hey remember all that stuff you loved about PIP last year? yeah that's all gone now" all under the legal disclaimer of "well we never said it was unlimited".
It comes across as devious and really not nice, I understand you need to work within the law and make rules accordingly. However if you knew these restrictions were necessary, a more open & honest breakdown of the amenities being provided would have sufficed. There is plenty of room on the ticketing page to outline it and it would have helped people weigh the true value of the product you are offering.
So already a bit upset and feeling slightly swindled, get to the festival and Friday happens, as you addressed in your email there were some snags, and you did your best to fix a lot of them, Thank You.
One that did not get fixed or really even addressed was the "Catered Meals" neither 3-4 "Pizza Rolls" nor a sandwich is of a $10 value, $60 (Grub) is what you broke it down as, and that, is simply not true. Saturday it seemed like you had it down and fixed when I walked into unlimited breakfast tacos, now there was some value! Things were turning around. Then Sunday was a disappointment when we were right back to 0 choices, & food that if offered on the festival grounds would not have sold for more than $5 a serving at most.
The meal ticket system last year was obviously flawed as that many vendors were not accepting them at first but instead of ironing out the kinks to make it run more smoothly you threw that system out and replaced with a much shittier solution. (Read as; Wanted: More Options & More Food Please)
Last minor point being the bags, last year; Chrome bags worth $120-$180 (they were real nice, I love mine) this year a $60 "Cardiel Shank".... The bag is cool, I dig it, but combine Less booze, Less food, Less swag and I don't conclude; Charge $45 More!
All in All, I still had a great time, and this all really is just another First World Problem, I hope you see this as criticism you can use to construct a better PIP experience for next time and not a "Fuck You Guys" because I still love this festival, just next year I'll probably love it as a 3-Day Passer.

Seriously, if the PIP decks are gonna be so far away, you might as well be seated...
I may go again, and go PIP just for the convenience, but it isn't set in stone...

I enjoyed it as I do not care as much about getting as many beers as possible in me at the fest. Just want the seating back in the PIP decks

Yeah my only real complaint was the food situation for PIP. Seating and maybe a little bit closer viewing deck would have been nice. Also a cover for shade. It also would have been nice to be able to get my beers at any beer tent and not be tied to the PIP lounge, that was at times a little inconvenient for my band viewing. The lineup and performances were amazing. I'll be going again, but might pass on PIP.

3-day passer here (my 5th FFF in a row!), you'll love it. I was surprised there wasn't seating in the PIP areas this year like there was last year. As I get older, I likes muh seating, so that was a nice perk for the PIP-rollin' folks that I'm not sure where it went...
On the flip side, I did use the canvas bags FFF had placed around some of the trees, that was cool.
