Personally, I really dig the in and out vibe of yr two day festival. Perhaps a big ass kickoff show at the Mohawk on thursday, the eve of FFF would be super.
If you shoot for a third day, I'd definitely get Alien Ant Farm to headline. There is also the option of christian-rockers "Third Day," whom I'm assuming are available to spread their message. http://www.thirdday.com/
I think that FFF works best as a 2 day thing. It's very difficult to answer this question without knowing how strong the lineup would be. I wouldn't want to pay for a 3 day PIP pass if it were the same amount of bands I'm interested in, only spread out over 3 days instead of 2. That would serve to dilute my fun. I understand that there is no way for you to have that info before even deciding on a third day but I had a blast last year and see a bigger potential downside to adding a 3rd day than I do to keeping it at 2. It ain't broke, nah mean?
YES YES YES. Please do! FFF should showcase an 'unground band that deserves to be above ground' like The Dear Hunter. Have them play a 'headlining' show each night to really get the band out there. Not enough people know about Casey Crescenzo and what a freaking genius he is. And thats the whole point of FFF right? To get to know those bands that aren't mainstream but should get the same attention.
