The mosh pit
I had never seen or heard of any of the bands (with the exception of Bad Religion) yesterday so being in the middle of a pit was really surprising. I can't believe I am alive today.

Mosh pits can be fun even if you have no clue who the band is and they seem to appear at random. Hell, I saw Ice Cube back in '92 and he had a pit going. It's all about having fun (and living to tell about it). Glad you made it through Saturday... but what about Sunday???

I didn't go Sunday. Good thing. I drank to much and was all stiff from Saturday.

There was a one person mosh pit during The Dirty Projectors, it was confusing.

I lost a shoe in the Municipal Waste mosh. There was another guy that I talked to later and he lost his work iPhone in that mosh!!

I got my glasses ripped off my face during the Descendents and never found them again. I was so psyched to see them I couldn't even pretend to be mad about it.

I was in the back-to-back Wall of Death (Municipal Waste/The Casualties) and broke my thumb. next night, moshed at Mastodon with a brace I bought at a CVS lol. if you aren't bleeding, bruised or broke something, then you didn't mosh hard enough. found a hat though :)

I more enjoy being on he edge of the pit nowadays. My real moshing days ended in 1991, Slayer, Norfolk, Virginia. Brutal pit...got knocked down from behind...fell over some other dude and faceplanted my nose into his back. The nose has been crooked ever since.
The pit during the casualties was fun. -

On Saturday I was like 2 maybe 3 people back from the front of the Wall of Death for The Casualties. As we started running the guy infront of me elbowed the shit out of my head. So hard he broke my sunglasses and knocked me over. I thank my lucky starts that the two guys running next to me noticed and kept everyone from stampeding all over me. Besides the head injury I also kinda fucked up my knee blood everywhere! Was it worth it? FUCK YES! The next day despite my knee still hurting I got all up in the Gwar mosh. I lost my shoe while being lifted off the ground and for some crazy reason I thought it would be a good idea to go down to ground level and find it. As I was making my way down i got pulled up by some random guy that told me to never ever do that I told him I lost my shoe and was scared I might break my foot if i tried to move. He carried me out to the edge and told me to just wait til the end to find my shoe. This among the sexy tattoo's, scruffy faces and awesome taste in music is why i adore the men of ffffest. If any of the dudes that saved my life stumble upon this friend me and I'll buy you a beer at this years ffffest! I remember so no trying any sneaky shit.

Nice story, Lauran. So we'll see you in the pit this year? The shore will probably have some grass/dirt instead of asphalt to land on this time. Although having the Black stage on the basketball court was really METAL!

during the Vandals last year, it was a pit but it was a fun pit, more like dancing or like a skankathon party
