Out of Towners

My boyfriend and 2 of my good friends are coming down with me from Amarillo which is 7-8 hours away..me and a friend used to live in austin so its not new territory but when I lived here I was too poor to have fun.

Us ground(ctrl) dudes will be attending as well - from Seattle and Sacramento. I've never been to Austin, let alone Texas. Looking forward to it. Heard some good things about Austin. Question, what is the public transportation scene like? Can I hop on a bus within the downtown area from the hotel to this festival? How late do the buses run? Are there plenty of cabs in the downtown area to hail, or must one call one to be picked up? How late are the bars open until? Late night dining options?

A friend and I are journalism students driving to Austin from Columbia, Mo. We are looking at couch surfing but thought it would be nice to couch surf with someone who is actually going to FFF. That way, we wouldn't just be using the couch surfing host for a place to crash.

Anyone?

me and some of my friends are coming in from fort worth! I have to work friday night and wont get off work till sat morn at 7 so we are gonna be rushing to get to austin! dont know what we are gonna do about a place to stay sat but figure we will prob be drunk and i dont like driving my car drunk! Anyone know if we could just stay in our car in the parking lot lol?

I'm coming in from Denton and am fucking stoked. I went three years back and had a blast. I've also gone to coachella the past three years in a row. This lineup is so amazing and so cheap.

I've got a buncha friends that live in Austin so I've got a couch to sleep on. Who knows what's going on after the fest?

I'm taking the roadtrip from New Orleans... Might fly solo actually! I'll just be wandering around meeting new people and listening to new music. Austin rocks. I have no clue where i'll be landing or if i'll even crash at all! I'm coming there to party with YOU. All of ya's. It's on.

I'll be coming in tonight from Houston. I have a place to stay, but I'm coming alone so it'd be nice to find people to hang out with.

Yes, we should keep this thread alive for 2010. I'll be flying from DIA to DFW, either that or driving the 15 hours! I know Austin's areas fairly well though so it won't be a problem, plus you've got great people living there so it's hard to run into trouble. I remember everyone at the fest was so nice last year, great great atmosphere.
The robots are nothing, if not versatile.

I am coming in from Houston and know Austin pretty well on account of visiting often. As of now, it looks like I am going alone because my GF and I split up. I am wondering if there are any single women from Houston that are thinking of going but may not want to go alone..... I am officially on the market now.
