Deathfix (Brendan of Fugazi)

Brendan Canty's collaboration with Rich Morel, henceforth to be referred to as Deathfix, started when the two of them were touring in Bob Mould's band, and has flowered under the dim lights of Brendan's toasty warehouse studio. They have been writing songs for two years now. Getting lost in their own devices. More guitars, more everything. Both singing. Lots of love for 1972. Fully analogue attack on the computer. Feeling good enough about it all now and ready to release it on Transmission LTD recordings. With the addition of Devin Ocampo on drums and Mark Cisneros on bass they are now ready to drive, elevating Deathfix beyond the studio project realm and into a live machine. Technology is helpful but it's not everything!
Brendan Canty (Guitar, Vocals) is a founding member and drummer of Fugazi and Rites of Spring, and has been making music, producing records, and making films in Washington DC since 1980. He has produced a lot of records for people like Ted Leo, The Make Up, and the Thermals, and made films for people like Wilco, Eddie Vedder and Death Cab for Cutie. Rich Morel (Keyboards, vocals) is a singer/songwriter, producer and remixer crafting records for a list of artists including Cyndi Lauper, Pet Shop Boys, New Order, Depeche Mode, Yoko Ono, and The Killers. Morel is also known for his collaborations with house music pioneers DEEP DISH and for his eponymous band's club hits “True”, “Cabaret” and “Under A Disco”. As a DJ, Morel is one half of BLOWOFF (alongside partner Bob Mould). Blowoff's residency at Washington DC’s 930 Club has become one of the city’s most celebrated club nights earning them equally successful residencies in NYC, San Francisco, San Diego, and Chicago.Devin Ocampo (Drums, Vocals), founding member of Faraquet and Medications, as well as drummer in Beauty Pill, The Mary Timony Band, and Smart Went Crazy. He has produced The Mary Timony Band's records, and the Medication's records.Mark Cisneros (Bass, Drums), has mad skills. He plays everything. He's currently playing drums in Medications, guitar and Saxophone in Chain and the Gang, and drums in Shortstack. He and Devin have known each other since high school in California and play like it. Monsters both.
